ABOUT ME

My journey to supporting others

My career began in 2008 in the fast-paced worlds of multimedia technology and IT management, where I developed a strong appreciation for structure, problem-solving and organisation. However, it was my transition into learning and development, working as a coach and training, that revealed where my true passion lay: supporting personal growth, building meaningful connections and helping people recognise their own potential.

Wanting to deepen my understanding of emotional wellbeing and human behaviour, I went on to complete a Performance Coaching Diploma, followed by a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy  in 2020 from the Salford University and a Postgraduate Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

My specialist training in domestic abuse, alongside my clinical experience within the Salford University Domestic Violence Clinic, has further shaped my understanding of trauma, relationships and the impact that difficult life experiences can have on our emotional wellbeing. These experiences have helped me develop a compassionate, trauma-informed approach that recognises each person as an individual, with their own story, strengths and journey.

Alongside my private practice, I have spent the past five years working collaboratively with Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs) and Anglia Ruskin University, supporting people from a wide range of backgrounds and with diverse personal and emotional challenges.

Today, I bring together my professional experience, clinical training and genuine passion for helping others to create a space that is warm, confidential and non-judgemental. My aim is to offer a professional sanctuary where you can feel heard, understood and supported as you navigate your own path towards healing, growth and meaningful change.

THERAPEUTIC APPROACH

How I Work Therapeutically

I believe that therapy begins with feeling safe, heard and understood.

I offer a warm, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can explore what is happening for you, at your own pace. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, relationship difficulties or simply feeling overwhelmed by life, we can work together to make sense of what you are going through and begin to explore what might help.

My approach is grounded in Person-Centred therapy, which means I see you as the expert in your own experience. I bring empathy, openness and genuine curiosity to our work, alongside my training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and my trauma-informed understanding. This allows me to draw on different therapeutic approaches where appropriate, rather than expecting you to fit into one particular way of working.

Therapy is not about being told what to do or being rushed towards a solution. It is about having the time and space to understand yourself, explore patterns, develop new perspectives and identify the changes that feel meaningful to you.

We work at a pace that feels right for you, with your needs, experiences and goals at the heart of our work. My role is to walk alongside you, offering professional guidance, compassion and support as you move towards greater understanding, confidence and meaningful change.
